IT'S ABOUT TIME!!

Black drag racing coverage will rise to unprecedented highs with the debut of America's newest drag racing internet magazine, Black Dragracers.com (BDR). Our primary objective is to provide a place on the internet where you can obtain up-to-date news and coverage of blacks in the world of drag racing. We are a pioneer magazine, and fully expect to be one of the best internet magazines as we grow in popularity.

While the drag racing world has entered a new season, there is a noticeable failure to provide coverage of blacks in the media. The majority of drag racing magazines rarely cover the black drag racers aspect of the sport, but BDR will focus on providing an informative news-based service. The time is right for BDR to offer blacks the same level of coverage already experienced by others. BDR will feature black competitors, and will field reports from many events throughout the country. This magazine also has the ever-popular discussion forum, by way of a message board and chat room. In essence, the vast collection of features is sure to enhance the coverage of blacks in drag racing on a national level.

BDR will have my complete focus as I am not only the publisher, but also the web master. It was a conversation at a Denny's restaurant in Pomona, CA., after the NHRA World Finals, that got the ball rolling. Initially, I was going to only be the web master, but after several weeks of nothing happening, I decided to go forward with the creation of the magazine. I didn't know the first thing about being a journalist. However, the lack of knowledge has never stopped me from jumping in, feet first.

Black Dragracers.com was originally slated for debut in February to coincide with Black History Month. But after putting in 14 hour days for two months or longer, what you see is the culmination of that initial plan. The magazine is far from complete, but with your help and input we can work together to make this a great endeavor. The staff at BDR is excited at the prospect of presenting to the world, the past and present contributions and accomplishments of blacks in drag racing. BDR is sure to have a feature which will appeal to you.

Our Mission

BLACK DRAGRACERS.com is a free, unlimited access publication with new stories and features. Some columns will be updated throughout the month.

BLACK DRAGRACERS.com was created to be a forum for black drag racers to discuss issues pertinent to them. This magazine was established because it was felt that the viewpoints of blacks were/are not adequately represented in drag racing. Items which may be included are: The history and future of blacks in drag racing, contributions to the sport, race teams, race participation, events wins, lack of sponsorship. We are committed to bringing you up-to-the minute news, information, status and fun stuff associated with drag racing. We will update you on black American's involvement in drag racing. We appreciate your comments and/or suggestions to make BDR the most comprehensive and entertaining drag racing internet magazine available.
